Siddesh Nageswaran

For 6+ years I've architected and led the systems behind customer-facing products: high-traffic platforms serving millions of requests an hour, multi-tenant integrations, and the cross-organizational work it takes to ship them.

01 About

I do my best work on ambiguous problems. I take them from a blank page to production: framing the problem, writing the design, building the solution, and owning it long after launch.

Wherever it makes sense, I turn one-off solutions into platforms other teams can rely on: a UI framework any page can adopt without changes, or a signup flow other businesses can plug into.

I'm also constantly auditing how my team works and finding ways to improve it. That led me to found our shared AI toolkit, an agent with team-specific skills and SOPs for investigating production issues and researching designs, and to build oncall automations that take repetitive diagnosis work off the team's plate.

My leadership is built on alignment. I write things down, bring partner teams in early through design reviews and regular syncs, and make trade-offs explicit so decisions stick. Across all of it, I hold a high bar for clear interfaces, measurable outcomes, and leaving systems simpler than I found them.

Outside of work, I build small products end to end, a few of which are in the projects section below.

    Amazon

Amazon Grocery · New York, NY

    • Software Development Engineer IIMar 2024 – Present
    • Software Development Engineer IJul 2022 – Mar 2024
    • Architected and own the platform that renders grocery subscription upsells to Amazon customers, the primary source of grocery subscription signups.
    • Led a cross-organizational effort to bring the first non-Prime subscription onto Prime's signup flow, re-architecting it into a multi-tenant platform. The integration significantly increased signups and ordered product sales, and has since expanded to the checkout surfaces that drive most signups.
    • Engineered the backend API and customer-facing widgets for a new digital punch card loyalty program, taking it from concept to a large-scale pilot with expansion beyond subscribers planned.
    • Designed and launched intelligent one-click reordering from the order details page, establishing the first grocery ordering framework outside of checkout.
    • Drove the expansion of payment over-authorization into the EU and Asia, reducing bad debt.
    • Proposed and built an automated framework for bulk diagnosis of stuck payments. After the team adopted it, time-to-diagnosis dropped substantially.
    • Founded and maintain the team's shared AI agent toolkit, with reusable skills and SOPs for investigating production issues, speeding up design research, and automating recurring team processes.
    • Serve as scrum master for a team of seven (planning, estimation, backlog grooming) and share on-call for high-traffic services across North America, Europe, and Asia.
  2. Jun 2020 – Jul 2022

    Morgan Stanley

    • Maintained a real-time quantitative platform that performs risk analysis for traders.
    • Migrated the codebase to Scala ZIO, increasing test coverage of essential functionality.
    • Pioneered the use of Spark on Databricks for the team's data processing and presented the results to senior technology leaders.
